David Jones, ‘In Parenthesis’

David+JonesDavid Jones was a Welsh poet and artist who produced arguably the finest piece of modernist writing in English to come out of the First World War, ‘In Parenthesis’ (there are extracts in the Norton Anthology). We’ll look at him later on the course, but here is a link to a reading of the poem on The Guardian (& here, should you be interested, is a link to a website with some further useful information and links on the poem.)
